Tips on How to Boost Your Fertility
1. Chart your body temperature.
Our doctor will provide advice on how to track your basal body temperature (BBT) to assess if you're ovulating. Over a few months, you will be assessed as to when you're ovulating. Having sex around the time of ovulation will boost your chance of conceiving a child.
2. An Ovulation calendar.
A fertility calculator or calendar can help to estimate the length of your mentrual cycle and the day of the month when you're most fertile. With the patterns in your cycle you can use that information to assess the best time to try to get pregnant.
3. Fertility Diet
Unhealthy food intake, whether too much or too little, has been recognized as a contributing factor to infertility because it can make your reproductive cycle irregular. A diet plan can be customised to assist you to plan your pregnancy.
4. Reduce stress.
Try to reduce work stress or plan a holiday at the right time can help with getting pregnant.
5. Avoid Lubricant.
If you need some lubrication to make you more comfortable during intercourse, try to use a lubricant that's sperm-friendly. Some lubricants can make sperms more likely to die before they reach the egg.
6. Prenatal vitamin
Our doctor may prescribe a prenatal vitamin. She may also suggest that you take folic acid or a prenatal vitamin with folic acid which will help reduce the risk of spina bifida and other neural tube defects in babies. Food sources of folic acid include beans, orange juice, spinach and strawberries.
